Approval of Sydney Maori Cultural Centre

The Sydney Marae Alliance is thrilled to announce the approval of our Landmark Development Application for the Sydney Maori Cultural Centre by the New South Wales Planning and Development Department and Cumberland Council.

This milestone represents the culmination of over three decades of dreams and aspirations held by our communities and elders. It is a moment of immense celebration and a testament to the unwavering dedication of countless individuals who have contributed to this journey.

The Development

The Sydney Maori Cultural Centre, located at 7 Hyland, Greystanes, will be a multi-purpose facility designed to:

• Provide a vibrant hub for cultural education, events, and gatherings.

• Enable programs and networks to establish to support families, youth and elders to thrive.

• Foster a strong sense of identity and belonging for Maori, Pacific and First Nations people while opening our culture to the broader communities to experience and engage.

Future Collaboration and Engagement

We invite all stakeholders, including local communities, cultural groups, and government bodies, to join us in this collaborative effort to create a space of learning, celebration, and cultural exchange for generations to come.
