The Sydney Marae Alliance is a or roopu, or group, consisting of a dedicated working committee, volunteers, and a closely-knit community, all sharing a common interest in celebrating, nurturing, and supporting Māori well-being through the establishment of a cultural centre.

The alliance emerged in 2015 through the amalgamation of three strong community-led organisations, each of which had independently forged strong connections with both the local community and government entities, as well as amassed valuable resources. This merger enabled them to pool their efforts and work collaboratively toward the shared objective of constructing a cultural centre.
